Local Goverment Museum

The museum that used the called "Musium Geology (Geology Museum)" built by the iniative of DR. Osberger, a Belgian Geologist, in 1963, when he was one of the expert in Unit of Belitung Tin Mining. At the beginning, this museum especially jut for keeping various kind of stones and rock, also the mini scale models of processing tin mine, on which, historically, it's describing the tools used in tin ore mining of traditional methods, until the period of using modern equipment. During its development, then, it's used also as a place for holding historical remnants from the inheritance of the kingdoms which had once existed in Belitung, these ancient things, such as: war weapon, porcelainware, earthenware, household utensils and so on.

At the back yard of the museum, there is mini zoo, with the specific speciesof wildlife in Belitung, such as: mouse-deer (Kancil), deer, murai batu bird (a kind of singing bird like starling), and many others.
